Anuska Ghosh

Anuska Ghosh came to television through the pageant circuit in Odisha, took the state title of Miss Universe Odisha in 2025 and went on to the national final in Jaipur. She is known to a wider audience for the two reality shows that followed, MTV Splitsvilla X6, where she entered as a wildcard, and Bigg Boss Bangla 3, where she was a wildcard in a Bengali house hosted by Sourav Ganguly. On both shows her reputation rests on the same quality, which is that she says the thing out loud and does not walk it back afterwards. This page sets out what the record actually shows about her career, and keeps it apart from the numbers that biography sites repeat about her age, her income and her follower count.

Who Anuska Ghosh is

Anuska Ghosh is a model from Odisha who moved from the state pageant circuit into Hindi and Bengali reality television within the space of about eighteen months. The pageant record is the part that can be checked cleanly. She won the Miss Universe Odisha 2025 title, which put her on the contestant list for Miss Universe India 2025 as the state entrant from Odisha, and she was listed there at 21 years of age.[2] Everything after that is television, and television is where the noise around her comes from.[1][4]

The two shows that made her a recognisable name are not the same kind of programme. Splitsvilla X6 is a dating show built on pairings, challenges and villa politics, and it reaches an audience that is young, urban and mostly watching on JioHotstar. Bigg Boss Bangla 3 is a regional franchise of the Bigg Boss format, in Bengali, on Star Jalsha, hosted by a former India cricket captain. To go from one to the other inside a single year is unusual, and it says something about how casting works now: a contestant with camera experience and a willingness to argue travels between language markets faster than a contestant with a film career.[3][5]

She is not an actress and does not present herself as one. Her public work is modelling, pageants, brand collaborations and reality television, and the directories that list her place her in the lifestyle and vlogs bracket rather than in film.[1][8] That matters for how her career should be read. There is no body of screen work to judge her on, only the record of how she behaves when a camera is pointed at her for three months, which is a different kind of evidence and the only kind that exists here.

Odisha, modelling and the years before television

Anuska Ghosh is from Odisha, and every public listing of her, including the pageant's own contestant table and the creator directories that carry her handle, gives Odisha as her base.[2][8] The biography sites add that she grew up there and later spent time in Kolkata and Delhi, which is a common route for models working the eastern circuit, but no interview of hers that this page could find sets out the sequence in any detail.[1]

What is on the record is the work. Before television she was doing the ordinary round of a pageant hopeful: state level competitions, brand shoots, runway assignments and the social media posting that now comes with all three. Bharat Fast describes that phase as fashion modelling across beauty pageants and promotions, and the titles she lists in her own social media bio support the outline, since they are pageant titles rather than acting credits.[1][4]

She is also a dancer, and dance is the one interest that shows up consistently in her own material and in the coverage of her. Her social media profile lists dancing alongside her pageant titles, and the personality she presents on camera, physical, quick to perform and comfortable being watched, fits someone who came up through stage competitions rather than through a camera first.[4] What kind of dance training she has had, and whether it is classical, film or freestyle, is not documented, so this page does not claim it.

Miss Universe Odisha 2025 and the national final

The title that anchors her public profile is Miss Universe Odisha 2025. It is a state title inside the Miss Universe India system, which in 2025 was organised by the Glamanand Group and run on a state licence model, with state winners advancing to a national final.[2] The Odia channel Janta TV Hindustan reported her win in a video dated 10 May 2025, which is the earliest dated record of the title that this page found.[2]

The national final was held in Jaipur on 18 August 2025, and Anuska Ghosh appears on the contestant table as entrant number five, representing Odisha as a state winner and listed at 21.[2] Manika Vishwakarma won the title that night and went on to represent India at the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand in November 2025.[2] That is the precise shape of Anuska Ghosh's pageant record: a state title won, a national final entered, and the national crown won by someone else.

The precision is worth insisting on because the title is easy to misread. A line that says Miss Universe India Odisha 2025 can look, to a reader skimming, like a national title or an international one, and the near identical names of the state round, the national pageant and the global pageant make the confusion almost structural. She has not claimed a national or international title, and the coverage of her does not either. What she holds is the Odisha state title and a place in the national line up.[1][2]

She also carries the Miss India Khadi title, which appears in her social media bio and in the name of the creator profile that lists her work.[4][8] This page treats it as a pageant or campaign title she holds rather than as an award with a documented date, because no dated announcement of it could be located. It is included here so that a reader who sees the phrase on her profile knows where it comes from.

Splitsvilla X6: the season she walked into

MTV Splitsvilla returned for its sixteenth season in January 2026, branded Splitsvilla X6, and the season was a deliberate reset of the format. It premiered on 9 January, aired three nights a week from Friday to Sunday at 7 pm on MTV and JioHotstar, and moved the villa to Mahabalipuram.[5] Sunny Leone returned as host and Karan Kundrra joined her as co-host for the first time, with Nia Sharma and Uorfi added as mischief makers.[5]

The twist that season was called Pyaar ya Paisa, love or money, and the title is a fair summary of the game. Contestants were asked to choose between emotional pairings and the cash and status that came with playing the competition as a competition.[5] With 32 contestants across the run, the season had room for entrants arriving at different points, which is how a wildcard like Anuska Ghosh gets a place in a show that has already established its couples and its factions.[5]

That structure is the reason her entry worked as television. A late entrant in a dating show is not a neutral addition. She arrives with no pairing, no history in the house and no obligation to the alliances that formed before she walked in, and the format expects her to disrupt them.[6] Reality shows cast wildcards for exactly that purpose, and the ones who last are the ones who understand that their job is to be a problem for other people's storylines.

The wildcard entry, the Mohit Magotra story and the exit

Anuska Ghosh entered Splitsvilla X6 as a wildcard contestant. The Times of India reported the entry in the same episode in which Ayush Jamwal was evicted, which is the standard shape of a wildcard swap in the franchise.[6] She came in from Odisha, without a partner, and immediately became one of the season's more discussed contestants, largely because she played the game loudly rather than trying to be liked first.

The storyline that followed her was her connection with Mohit Magotra, which the show built as one of the season's central pairings. Coverage of the two treated them as a couple on the show, and the pairing was discussed well beyond the episodes, to the point that their later separation was reported as news in its own right.[1][7] What the connection was off camera is not something either of them has settled publicly, and this page does not treat a show pairing as a relationship.

She left the show in episode 11, in what Bombay Times reported as the first eviction from Paisa Villa.[7] The reporting around her exit noted the emotional response to it, which in a dating format is the point of the exit episode: the audience is meant to feel the removal of a pairing rather than the removal of a player. She did not stay to the end of the season, and the season continued without her.

There is a conflict in the record about the shape of her run, and it should be stated rather than smoothed over. Bharat Fast describes her as having been evicted and then brought back as a wildcard, while The Times of India reported her arrival itself as a wildcard entry.[1][6] Both accounts agree that a wildcard was involved and that she was out by episode 11. They do not agree on the order of events, and no primary source that this page could reach settles it.

Bigg Boss Bangla 3: a Hindi market face in a Bengali house

In September 2026 she turned up in a completely different house. Bigg Boss Bangla returned for a third season on 30 August 2026, ten years after the second, on Star Jalsha with daily streaming on JioHotstar and Sourav Ganguly as host.[3] The season carried the tagline Durgo Joy Akdomi Shohoj Noy and a retro themed house, and its original cast was drawn almost entirely from Bengali film, television, music and sport: Monami Ghosh, Bharat Kaul, Durnibar Saha, Sohini Paul, Nandini Dutta, the former footballer and former MLA Dipendu Biswas, and the British actress Alexandra Taylor among them.[3]

Anuska Ghosh was not part of that original group. She came in as a wildcard, in the episode in which Sohini Paul was evicted, and the Wikipedia housemate list describes her simply as a reality television personality known for MTV Splitsvilla.[3] That one line is the whole of her introduction to a Bengali audience: not an actress, not a Tollywood name, but a contestant from a Hindi dating show.[4]

The entry was covered as a piece of casting news in its own right. Indulge Express ran a profile of her on 30 September 2026 that introduced her to readers who had not watched Splitsvilla, set out her titles, and noted that she had begun playing her own game within days, first warning Rajveer Dey about something and then questioning Nandini Dutta's plan.[4] For a wildcard, that is the correct opening move. A late entrant who spends the first week being pleasant has usually spent the first week becoming irrelevant.

Her run did not last long. Telegraph India reported her eviction under a headline that noted both her public dig at Rajveer Dey and the fact that she was out of the house within about two weeks of entering.[3] Two weeks is short even by wildcard standards, and it fits the pattern of her television career so far: arrive without a faction, make an impression immediately, and leave before the audience has had time to get tired of the impression.

How she gets cast, and what that tells us

The pattern across her two shows is consistent enough to be a casting profile. Both are formats that need a contestant who will say something in a group setting, both bring in late entrants to disturb existing alliances, and both reward a contestant who is comfortable being the person others react to. Anuska Ghosh has now done that job twice, in two languages, for two different broadcasters, within eighteen months.[3][6]

There is also a market logic to the second move. Bigg Boss Bangla had been off air for a decade and returned with a host who is one of the most recognisable faces in eastern India, which meant the show needed contestants who could generate conversation beyond the core Bengali television audience.[3] A contestant with a Hindi reality show behind her and an Odisha pageant title in front of her is exactly that kind of booking: recognisable to a national audience, new to the local one, and cheap relative to an established film actor.[4]

What she does with that position is the open question. Wildcards who become careers are the ones who convert a two week run into something that outlasts the season, usually a hosting job, a brand portfolio or a fiction role. Her public output so far is modelling, pageant work and brand collaborations, and the creator directory that lists her puts her in the lifestyle bracket with a mid sized following rather than a large one.[1][8] Whether the television exposure changes that is not yet visible in the record.

The one thing that is clear is that she is not a one season story in the way many reality contestants are. She has been cast twice by two different production teams in under two years, which is the industry's own verdict on whether she is useful on camera.[3][6] That is a thinner kind of evidence than a body of work, but it is evidence, and it is more than most people who pass through a dating show can point to.

What has not been confirmed

Her date of birth has not been published. Biography sites give a birth year around 2004 and an age of 21, and the Miss Universe India 2025 contestant table independently listed her at 21 in August 2025, which is consistent with a birth year in 2003 or 2004.[1][2] That is a pageant record of an age at a point in time, not a date of birth, and this page does not convert one into the other.

Her education is reported by Bharat Fast as a Master's degree in English, and that claim appears to come from profile listings rather than from anything she has said in an interview.[1] No outlet that covers her has named a school, a college or a university, and no date is attached to the degree. It is left out of the infobox for that reason. The same applies to the claim that she spent years in Kolkata and Delhi, which is plausible and repeated, but not sourced to her.

Her height and weight circulate as 5 feet 6 inches and about 55 to 60 kilograms, both attributed to profile listings.[1] She has not published either, and the numbers are not consistent across the sites that carry them. They are recorded here as unverified rather than as facts.

Her income is the least settled item. Bharat Fast estimates a net worth of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and says plainly that the figure comes from profile site estimates.[1] There is no disclosure behind it, no company filing, no property record and no statement from her, and this page does not repeat an estimate as a fact. Her fee for either reality show has not been disclosed by her or by the makers, and the figures that circulated during Splitsvilla X6 were speculation.

Her follower count is also contested. Bharat Fast reported more than 492,000 followers on Instagram in October 2026, while the creator directory CredFluence listed the same handle at about 93,000 around the same period.[1][8] Instagram itself cannot be checked without logging in, since any profile request redirects to a login wall, so neither number can be verified from outside. The handle, anuskaghosh.official, is consistent across both listings and appears in her coverage, which is the only part of this that can be confirmed.[4][8]

Finally, the order of events in her Splitsvilla run is disputed between two outlets, as set out above. This page records both versions and does not pick one.[1][6]
