Who Rhiti Tiwari is

Rhiti Tiwari is a singer and songwriter from Mumbai whose public life has run on three tracks at once: music, business and politics. She is the eldest daughter of Manoj Tiwari, the Bhojpuri actor and singer who became a BJP member of Parliament, and almost every profile of her begins with that fact. The interesting part of her record is what she has done with the access it gave her.[1][3]

Her music is acoustic and lyric-led. She plays the guitar, trained in Indian classical music, and has spoken about building songs around words rather than around a drop or a hook. That is a difficult position in the Hindi independent scene, where a single needs a video and a video needs a face, and it explains why her releases have been intermittent rather than steady.[1][3]

The business and political work is what makes her unusual as a contestant. A reality show usually casts either a performer with a fan base or a personality with a story. Tiwari arrived with a label, a sports management connection and a party membership, which meant the show could introduce her as a public figure rather than as somebody's daughter, even when the coverage did not.[1][3]

Family, Mumbai and the Manoj Tiwari name

Tiwari was born in Mumbai and grew up there, the eldest child of Manoj Tiwari and his first wife, Rani Tiwari, who is a singer and social worker. Her parents separated in 2011 and later divorced. Brut reports that she largely lived with her mother in Mumbai after the separation and maintained a relationship with her father and his family, and that Manoj later remarried and has two younger daughters.[1][3]

That arrangement shaped the way she talks about her father. She has addressed the name in interviews rather than pretending it does not exist, and the coverage of her entry leaned on the family connection because it is the fastest way to explain her to an audience. The connection is also literal: Manoj Tiwari was a contestant on Bigg Boss 4 in 2010, the first season Salman Khan hosted, and the show used the two of them together in a promotional segment the night before the premiere.[2][3]

The father and daughter appeared in that segment on 5 September 2026, and she entered the house the following night. Wikipedia records the pairing in its production notes, which is unusual for a casting detail and says something about how the season sold her: not as a singer with a single, but as a second generation contestant returning to a house her father had lived in.[2]

She told the Times of India, in an interview published around her entry, that she had kept the Bigg Boss signing a secret from her father. If that is accurate, it complicates the story the promos told, because the segment with him was filmed before the premiere. The two accounts can coexist, a secret kept until the contract was signed and a promotional appearance after it, but the record should note that the sequence is hers to explain rather than something the coverage resolves.[4]

Music from Chale Aao to Jhoothi Baby

Her first widely heard release was Chale Aao in 2020, made in association with the singer and composer Palaash Muchhal. The music video featured the actors Nandish Sandhu and Charlie Chauhan, and the song introduced her to an audience that was larger than the one she had built through covers. It is still the track most profiles name first, and it is the reason a section of the Bigg Boss audience knew her before the show.[1][3]

The gap between that single and her next notable release is the part of her music career that is least documented. Bharat Fast says she wrote her first original song at 15 and released independent singles and acoustic covers on digital platforms in the years before Chale Aao. Those releases are difficult to date from the public record, and no source checked for this entry lists them in order.[1]

Jhoothi Baby arrived in December 2025 and is the better measure of what she does. She wrote, sang and composed the synth-pop track herself and promoted it through streaming, YouTube and outdoor billboards, which is a campaign size that independent artists rarely manage without a label. The song is a departure from the acoustic material she is usually described as making, and it is the clearest evidence that the music is not a hobby attached to a family name.[3]

She has also worked on audio production and visual direction for other independent artists, according to Bharat Fast, and cites Rumi and Harivansh Rai Bachchan as influences. Those are the influences of a writer rather than a performer, and they fit the lyric-heavy style that the profiles describe.[1]

Zooni, Rhiti Sports and the business side

Alongside music, Tiwari has worked as an entrepreneur. Bharat Fast reports that she is one of the founders of Zooni, a fashion and jewellery brand, and that she has held a leadership role at Rhiti Sports. Neither claim is backed by a company filing in the sources checked, and both are described as reported rather than confirmed.[1]

The two ventures make sense together. A jewellery and fashion label needs a face and a distribution network, and a sports management firm needs relationships across teams and sponsors. For someone with a public profile and a family in entertainment, both are businesses where the access is as valuable as the capital.[3][1]

The business record also explains how she presents herself on television. Contestants who arrive from a salaried job talk about struggle. Contestants who arrive from a family business talk about work. Tiwari's references inside the house were to projects, schedules and money management, which is the vocabulary of someone who has run something, even a small thing, rather than someone who has only been employed by one.[1][3]

The BJP entry and the social work

Tiwari joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in May 2024, at 22 according to Brut, and said at the time that she had been working with an NGO and wanted to contribute through social service. She campaigned for her father during the Delhi elections, and Bharat Fast lists tree plantation and clean energy drives in New Delhi among the causes she has supported.[3][1]

Joining a party at 22 is not unusual in a political family, and it is worth being precise about what the membership means. It is not an elected office, a party post or a policy role that any source describes. It is a membership, a set of campaign appearances and a public alignment, and the coverage of her entry treated it as the third strand of her biography rather than as a career.[3]

The political connection did become a storyline on the show, indirectly. Salman Khan questioned her on Weekend Ka Vaar about how much of her recognition came from her own work and how much from her family name, and her father responded publicly by rejecting claims that he had used his influence to get her cast. Manoj Tiwari said he did not know she had been finalised for the show and described the programme as a game.[3]

That exchange is the closest the season came to addressing the thing every profile of her has to address. A contestant with a famous parent is always answering a question about merit, whether or not the question is asked out loud.[3][1]

Bigg Boss 20: the premiere, the task and the exit

Tiwari entered the Bigg Boss 20 house on 6 September 2026 as one of the original housemates. The season gave every contestant two lives, so losing one was not an exit, and the first weeks were spent establishing groups rather than removing people. She was part of the original sixteen, not a wildcard, and she came in with a family connection the show had already advertised.[2]

Her run is remembered for a captaincy task built around a rap style diss battle. Brut reports that she argued with Qazi Touqeer and Uditi Singh, that some of her remarks were muted during the telecast, and that the disagreement continued after the task ended. The episode was discussed on Weekend Ka Vaar, where Salman Khan questioned her language and behaviour and raised the question of her family name in the same conversation.[3]

The exit came on Day 26, when the captaincy nominees Mahhi Vij, Uditi Singh and Yung DSA chose her to leave. Wikipedia records the eviction in its nomination notes, and the detail matters: it was not a public vote but a decision by three housemates, which is why coverage described it as a mid-week eviction rather than a weekend one. Bharat Fast, publishing a few days later, described her as having spent close to a month in the house.[2][1]

After leaving she dedicated her first post to Qazi Touqeer, saying she had his back, and shared pictures from her final moments inside. The friendship was one of the few relationships from the season that she has spoken about publicly since.[3][1]

The Rs 25,000 allowance row

The controversy that followed her out of the house began with a conversation inside it. Tiwari said her father gives her around Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 a month, and spoke about being careful with money, recalling Rs 10 vada pavs and putting about Rs 500 of diesel in her car when needed. Brut records the remarks and the reaction that followed.[3]

The reaction was about plausibility rather than about the number. A contestant with a jewellery label and a sports management role describing a household allowance as her spending money reads, to an audience, as either a rich person performing thrift or a daughter being honest about the limits her family sets. The Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa mocked the comments, and the clip travelled further than the episode.[3]

Tiwari later clarified that she had never claimed to be struggling financially. That clarification is the important part of the record. The original remarks were about a monthly allowance, not about poverty, and the row turned them into a claim she had not made.[1][3]

What has not been confirmed

Her date of birth is unresolved. Bharat Fast lists 14 August 1999 in one profile line and 23 June 2001 in another, and notes that the two come from different databases. Brut describes her as 25 in September 2026, which fits the 2001 date. She has not published a date of birth herself, so any age given for her is an inference.[1][3]

Her education beyond school is vague. Bharat Fast says she studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and then music and liberal arts, including terms abroad, without naming an institution or a qualification. No source checked for this entry names a college or a degree.[1]

Her height and weight are listed by Bharat Fast at 5 feet 5 inches and around 52 kg. She has not confirmed either, and the numbers do not appear in interview based coverage.[1]

Her business roles are reported rather than documented. The founder position at Zooni and the leadership role at Rhiti Sports come from profiles of her rather than from company records, and the entry describes them as reported for that reason.[1]

Her net worth has no confirmed figure. Bharat Fast is explicit about this, and the income streams it lists, music releases, the business ventures, brand work and the television appearance, are a description of a portfolio rather than a set of accounts. Her fee for Bigg Boss 20 has not been disclosed by her or by the makers.[1]
